We started Agarwals with a mission: building AI agents that benefit students and teachers across India. Gajan is our first agent, built around one problem — making practice more purposeful.
My belief in this mission comes from my own experience. In 1992, I prepared for an engineering entrance exam in a small town in Rajasthan using a correspondence course. A few years later, I studied for the GRE to pursue a master’s degree in the United States, and then for the GMAT to attend business school at Wharton. Years later, as a parent, I helped my children prepare for the SAT and ACT.
Across those years, exam preparation moved from correspondence courses to coaching centres and then to online platforms. Teaching became more accessible, but students still had to decide what to practise, which questions to choose and what to do after a difficult session. We believe AI can change that.
Purposeful practice, 10 minutes at a time
Gajan is an AI agent that prepares short, focused practice sets for you. Each set gives you something specific to work on, without turning every practice session into a full-length test. We are starting with UPSC Civil Services Prelims.
You can begin with Gajan’s recommended sets or ask it to create a custom set. The aim is to make it easier to start, stay focused and keep practising.
Memory that makes practice personal
Gajan continuously learns from your practice, your feedback and what you tell it. Its memory connects those experiences across sessions, so your next sets can reflect a growing understanding of you.
A single answer cannot explain how someone learns. The harder problem is connecting evidence over time: recognising patterns, distinguishing a recurring difficulty from a one-off mistake and deciding when to revisit something. This is central to the agent we are building.
Question intelligence grounded in the exam
Gajan draws on previous-year questions and Gajan Originals. Its exam research connects the syllabus, past papers and the reasoning that questions demand.
Question intelligence goes beyond a topic label or an answer key. It considers the concepts involved, the reasoning steps, the reading and calculation demands, and the misconceptions behind wrong answers. That richer understanding helps Gajan create purposeful sets around each learner.
An agent that keeps learning about you
Our vision is an agent that gets to know how you practise and helps you keep moving forward. Practice, memory and exam research work together: Gajan creates new sets continuously around you, and each session gives it more to learn from.
Gajan is the first step in Agarwals’ wider mission. We want the benefits of AI to reach students and teachers across India.
